On 25 May 2010, Marc Anthony issued his new album Icon, an album of ballads recorded in Castilian that includes eight of their favorite songs originally performed by other big stars and two original songs written by Julio Reyes and Anthony himself, who also have produced the album. Among the songs that we find in Icons highlight tracks from artists such as Juan Gabriel, Jose Luis Perales, Jose Jose, Roberto Carlos and La Mafia. New York – NY – April 7, 2010: Sony Music Latin announced today the release of “Y Cómo Es Él”, the first promotional cut from Iconos, the new album by Marc Anthony.
“Y Cómo Es Él” was originally sung by the song’s composer, Jose Luis Perales, and now it returns in the unmistakable voice of Marc Anthony.
Iconos contains eight songs by some of the singers Marc Anthony most admires, including Jose Luis Perales, Juan Gabriel, Roberto Carlos and José José, and also includes two new songs composed by Marc Anthony and Julio Reyes.
Marc Anthony has sold more than 11 million albums worldwide, making him one of the most influential artists of his time and an ambassador of Latin music and culture. A five-time Grammy winner, he has received a slew of gold and platinum records as certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
He has received a total of 18 “Premios Lo Nuestro,” a record for this prestigious Latin music prize. His influence on music has been noted by New York magazine, which named him among their “Top 10 Most Influential New Yorkers.”
In summer 2009 Marc became a minority owner of Los Miami Dolphins and in September he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington D.C.
